How to get this archive ----------------------- The archive is in addition to Aminet available from my www-homepage. The homepage also contains some other of our C64-related productions. Use the following address: http://www.stud.ntnu.no/~oyvindje/ Introduction to C64Player ------------------------- C64Player is a program simular to PlaySid, but plays the music on a C64 instead of the Amiga. Emulation of the 6581 Sidchip is getting better and better, but we don`t think it has got good enought. So we always use the C64 when we want to listen to good C64 music. But the idea of having all the music-files on the Amiga-harddisk instead of using C64 disk is great. This program combines those two tings: Start the program, use a requester to select your favorite tune, and the the music will be transfered to the C64 and replayed there. It it easy and fast to use. Some major disadvantages ------------------------ - The program work only with the first PlaySid-format: One file for the music-rouine and data, and one icon-file for information and addresses. (One-file-format not supported.) - Packer-formats are not supported. - The replayer-routine can handle only music without samples. This is because we use interrupts for checking the parallell-port. But this way be taken care of in a future verson. System Requirements ------------------- This program requires the following: - One Amiga computer with OS3.0 or above. - One Commodore 64/128 computer. - Parallell cable (archive includes cable-discription). - Software on both computers.
