Short: Mort & Phil Author: AMIGA FACTORY Uploader: amigafactory gmail com Type: game/jump Version: 1.4 Requires: 1Mb Chip RAM, CPU 020 AGA Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.0 Distribution: Aminet < - - - MORT & PHIL - - - > CREDITS: This game was developed using the powerful REDPILL v.0.9.70 game engine (created by Zener) on an Amiga 1200 with a CPU 020 and 2MB of RAM, running the ClassicWB LITE operating system. It was emulated in WinUAE (thanks for Toni Willem) for easier conversion of images, sounds, and other elements. It was then tested on a real Amiga 1200 containing a Blizzard 1230-IV motherboard, my original Amiga computer. PROGRAMMING: Amiga Factory MUSIC: TMA* EFECTS: Some were taken from a personal database, and others were created by myself.. PUBLISHED: Amigatronics MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: CPU = 68000 (recom. 68020) RAM = 1Mb (Recom. 1.5Mb) EXPLANATIONS ABOUT THE VERSION This game was originally designed to run on OCS/ECS machines, hence the 32-color design. However, the 64-pixel maximum width limitation of parallax scrolling on these machines forced me to abandon that plan. With such limited scrolling, the game would have looked very poor and lacking. That's the only reason the game has to run on AGA machines. ORIGINAL HISTORY VERSION: In 2005, M-solutions (Mobile Solutions Consulting Group) and B.R.B. Internacional distributed the first mobile video game featuring Francisco Ibáñez's characters in over fifty countries across five continents. The chosen genre was adventure, with a clever mix of strategy, disguises... and plenty of humor! The agents' mission this time was to rescue the Superintendent, who had been kidnapped. Players could choose either Mortadelo or Filemón, with the advantage that the two characters could be switched at any point during the game. Some challenges were only for the intrepid Mortadelo, while others were specifically for the inimitable Filemón. Internationally, the game was distributed as "Mort & Phil." AMIGA HISTORY VERSION: The Mortadelo and Filemón comics were a big part of my childhood, and I remember them fondly for all the good times I spent reading them and admiring their funny illustrations. Since the passing of the great master of the comic book world, Francisco Ibáñez Talavera, creator of Mortadelo and Filemón and many other characters, I've had in mind creating a game for the Amiga to pay him a well-deserved tribute and contribute my own small part to the history of this comic book artist. CONTROLS Movement: Arrow keys / Cursor / Joystick Down: Change character (Mort / Phil) (Phil cannot change characters when he is on top of Mort in his turtle costume) Fire 1: Move boxes (Phil) Kick boxes (Mort = Soccer player) Fire 2: Change costume (Mort) F1: Options menu (Reset level, Go to Menu, Exit game) ESC: Exit game (quick way) (The Options menu cannot be accessed if Mort is wearing a costume) (Due to issues related to costume changes, ONLY MORT can exit levels. So, if you are wearing a costume, transform into Mort to advance to the next level) The game saves the last level you played, allowing you to select it later on the level selection screen so you don't have to replay levels you've already completed. This save is deleted when you exit the game. Remember, it's a cooperative game, so you need to choose the right character for each situation. As an adventure game, you'll need to use your ingenuity and skill to emerge victorious.
