These samples were in their own idiosyncratic format, but about a year later Bobby Deen wrote a conversion program (available for example on aminet) that turned them into 8SVX files. However, the original samples may now be a bit hard to come by, so this is a collection of the 8SVX versions, plus a few converted from a later disc issued by FAUG. To the best of my knowledge they are all public domain. I put it together for my own use with the MusicWeb [mus/midi/MusicWeb.lha] but they should work with any program that will read 8SVX instruments. Banjo BassDrum BassGuitar BongoTom Clarinet Claves Cymbal Fiddle Flute FuzzGuitar GoodPipe LowGuitar PowerChord Sax Sitar Snare Strings Trumpet Vibes Whistler Zither All the files are five-octave, most -- except percussion -- have repeat segments. All the musical instruments play in the correct key. (If you consider the Claves "musical", however, they don't seem to be right...) Have fun! Pete Goodeve pete@jwgibbs.CChem.Berkeley.EDU
