It is just CD-Rip) TotalVision - Life After Venus Art. /\ || Hi, it is me Feelon. Wonder what the qoute means? Well, after Noe & Elf quit the scene, I asked Elf for sources to their engine. We know with Elf for many years, and he agreed. He only wanted me, to put a line or two, that the 3D engine was written by Noe, with his (Elf) little help. I've add a lot of new features to their sources, and now it is quite good ;) Also I should thanks Elf, for access to his Amiga. I don't have my own, so most of the additional routines I wrote on my PC. On his Amiga I joined all the sources together. Anyway credits for this demo should go to: Feelon - design, 3D modeling, programming. Ezawir - Audio atmosphere. Spark - title logo Noe&Elf - 3D engine. As you probably realized, most of the cliparts used in this demo are scanned. Some people will probably call this lame, but I don't care. Most important is, that this demo looks good ;) And now how to get it to work: First you should run VA3D_Prefs program. Set you options, and save them. PPCTimer (in misc section) speeds rendering a lot. However, on some machines it can get out of sync. If demo runs too fast, do not use PPCTimer. PPCTimer may cause, that the music will be not synchronized with animation. On AGA best choice for display is HAM6, or GRAY8. If you want to make some screenshots during demo, enable screenshoting in misc section. To save screenshot, use F1 key during demo. Double buffering slows demo a bit (Elf claims this is due to context switching, whatever it is ;). Next thing you should do, is setting audio options. If You have CD version of this demo, you should enable cd music, select cd device you are using (probably atapi.device) and set cd unit. This will cause to play CDTrack during demo. If this demo is a cd-rip, you should select ahi mode and mixing frequency. Audio will be played using AHI. Note, that 'PlayMusic' gadget must be set (if you want music) no matter if you want module or cd-track to be replayed. If cd-music starts too fast, you can add a delay parameter to GenderBender.elf. ie. GenderBender.elf 50 ,will wait 1 sec before demo starts. 50tics = 1sec. Default is 10 (It will wait 0.2 sec before demo starts). Of course 0 an be also used (there will be no wait command used). If you options are already saved, type start_ppc.bat or start_68k.bat to watch the demo. Note, that 68k version works only on cgfx cards, and requires very fast CPU (060 or better ;) I have also included program (VA3DPlay.elf) for replaying all *.va3d scenes. Use like this: VA3DPlay.elf data/any_scene_you_want.va3d. You should be in GenderBender directory to do that. Otherwise it will crash. This program was written by Elf. Only Amiga PPC & Linux version exist. (.elf is for amiga .linux is for Linux ;) Feelon ^ Total Vision Chojna 1999. PS. To run this on linux you will have to change Data/ directory to data/ And all the data/ entries must be lowercase. Sorry.
